European energy challenges

The European energy sector faces critical challenges in the future: fuel supplies need to be secured and greenhouse gas emissions reduced significantly while still maintaining a high level of economic growth. To shed light on different pathways towards achieving these goals and in order to foster an effort based on dialogue, synergy and mutual understanding, the participants of the summit will work together and gather their ideas in order to unite the different stake-holders and regions of Europe to achieve a climate and energy plan for the for the European region for the year 2030.

Our opportunity

It is a deep-rooted principle behind Energy Crossroads' actions that we as the youth needs to take action now, and create our own future the way we want it.
The summit will function as a launching pad set to empower and equip the participants to take action in their university, country, or region. As you can read below, this will be done through a mixture of inspiration, social networking, skill and knowledge accumulation, and support before, during, and after the summit.

That is why we call our summit an opportunity - opportunity for action...

University Support

The process towards action begins already before the summit days. Energy Crossroads is encouraging all the participants that have been invited, to pursue having the heads of their universities or companies sign an official letter of support. This show of support will help empowered students & young professionals initiate action.

10th of March

The day begins with inspirational speeches and debates about the best way to secure a clean energy future, by some of the leading figures in the energy and climate debate.

Regional negotiatons
Europe is split in 4 regions. The participants of the conference will be placed in the region that best fit their actual nationality. In each region a group of students will engage in a structured dialogue about the challenges and opportunities for their region seen from the perspectives of different stakeholders. What are the regional energy possibilities?

Co2penhagen party
Finally, the participants will get a chance to network at a pre-Co2penhagen party, the world's first CO2-neutral music festival.

11th of March

Just as the day before, the day will begin with a dose of inspiration in the form of speeches and debates, with a focus energy security.

European negotiatons
Building on the previous day of ideas and solutions, each region now meet to discuss the challenges and opportunities for shaping Europe's energy future and together make climate and energy plan for the European region for the year 2030.

12th of March

The focus of this day will be on how each of us can act in order to help reach a clean, prosperous and secure energy future. How do we reach the opportunities discussed?

How can we redefine business models, foster green campuses and help develop a sustainable balance of prosperity?

The Support continues
Great support will be offered the participants in their future actions through the global Energy Crossroads network.
